Remake PRADA Tessuto Bag: Good Deal or Big Mistake?

So, I’ve been eyeing this PRADA Tessuto Nylon Backpack for ages. You know, the classic one? But the price tag? Ouch. It got me thinking, why not try to remake it myself? Sounds crazy, right? But I was determined. As a strong independent woman, I can do it!

Find a similar bag

First things first, I needed to find a good base. Something with a similar shape and size. I spent days scouring online shops, you know, those sites that sell all sorts of vintage stuff, like eBay. Finally, I found a plain black nylon backpack that looked promising. Not exactly the same, but close enough.

Prepare the materials

Then came the fun part – gathering all the materials. I bought some high-quality nylon fabric, similar to what PRADA uses. Also some zippers, buckles, and other hardware. It took a while to find ones that looked right. It’s all about the details, you know?

  • Nylon Fabric: Got a good deal on a roll of durable, water-resistant nylon.
  • Zippers and Buckles: Found some sturdy ones that matched the original PRADA design.
  • Thread: Heavy-duty nylon thread, of course.
  • PRADA Logo: This was tricky. I managed to find a replica logo online after much searching.

Start cutting and sewing

With everything ready, I started cutting the fabric. I carefully measured and cut each piece, following the shape of the base backpack. Then came the sewing. I used a heavy-duty sewing machine for this. Stitch by stitch, I started assembling the new pieces onto the base backpack. It was slow going, but I was making progress.

Adding the PRADA touch

The most important part was, of course, the PRADA logo. I carefully attached it to the front of the backpack. It was a small detail, but it made a huge difference. Suddenly, it didn’t just look like any other backpack. It was starting to resemble the real deal!

Finishing details

I spent the next few days adding the finishing touches. I reinforced some seams, added some extra pockets, and made sure everything was secure. To remove dirt, I clean the whole lining using a cloth. It was a lot of work, but I was determined to get it right.

The big reveal

Finally, after weeks of work, it was done. My very own “PRADA” Tessuto Nylon Backpack. It wasn’t perfect, but it was pretty darn close. And you know what? I was proud of it. I made it myself, with my own two hands.

So, there you have it. My crazy adventure in remaking a designer backpack. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. And who knows, maybe this is just the beginning. Maybe I’ll start remaking other designer items. The possibilities are endless! Starting a few years back, the dedicated practice of making something new out of the old, wasted or unused isn’t going anywhere, remake is here to stay!
