Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with this one bag lately, the Prada Dynamique Hobo. I first saw it online and was like, “Whoa, that’s a good-looking bag.” It’s got this cool, laid-back vibe, but it’s also kinda fancy, you know? Anyway, I decided I had to make one for myself.
I started by looking everywhere for info. I checked out tons of pictures, trying to figure out the shape, the size, all that stuff. It’s like, a slouchy hobo, but it’s also got some structure, which is a bit tricky. But I was determined!
Materials
- Some black nylon fabric – gotta get that Prada look, right?
- Leather for the handle and some trim – makes it look a bit more classy.
- A zipper – ’cause you gotta keep your stuff safe.
- Some metal hardware – you know, for the strap and stuff.
- Lining fabric – I went with something fun, just for a little surprise.
I started with a basic pattern, like a big half-circle. That’s the main body of the bag. I figured out the sides and got everything cut out. Sewing the nylon was kinda slippery, gotta be honest. But, I took it slow and it turned out okay. The leather parts were a bit easier, thank goodness. I used my heavy-duty needle for that, just to be safe.
The handle was probably the trickiest part. I wanted it to be sturdy, so I layered a few pieces of leather and topstitched it like crazy. I attached it to the bag with some rivets, which was a bit nerve-wracking. I didn’t want to mess it up at that point!
I added the zipper, which was pretty standard. And then I sewed in the lining, which was actually kind of fun. It’s like, the last step, and you finally see it all coming together. I added a little pocket on the inside, too, for my phone and keys.
Honestly, it took me way longer than I thought it would. There were a few times when I was like, “What was I thinking?” But I finally finished it, and you know what? It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It’s definitely got that Prada vibe, and it’s the perfect size for all my stuff. Plus, I made it myself! How cool is that?
