Okay, so, I wanted to try and make this Prada Re-Edition 1995 Chaine Re-Nylon Mini-Bag, the “original order” version. I’ve been seeing it all over the place, and I got curious, you know?
First off, I started digging around about what this bag even is. I found out it’s a remake of a bag from, like, way back in 1995. It’s made with this stuff called Re-Nylon, which is apparently some kind of recycled material. Sounds cool, right? Good for the planet and all that. They say it’s tough stuff, meant to last a long time. I guess we’ll see about that.
Then I started looking into where I could even find this Re-Nylon. I saw some stuff online about *, which is apparently the place to find the latest collections from these fancy brands. There were a few places mentioned, like AquaFloryaAVM in Istanbul. I made a note of all that, figuring it might be useful later.
Next, I needed to figure out how this bag is actually put together. I mean, I wanted it to look as close to the real deal as possible. I found some info saying the bag is known for its “timeless charm” and “soft volumes.” Okay, sure, but what does that actually mean in terms of making it? I spent a good amount of time just staring at pictures of the bag, trying to get a feel for its shape and how the different parts fit together.
The real challenge was finding the right materials. I mean, it’s not like you can just go to your local craft store and ask for Re-Nylon, you know? I spent hours searching online, looking for something that would be a good substitute. It had to be black, obviously, and it needed to have that same kind of texture and feel. Eventually, I found something that I thought might work. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close enough, I figured.
Once I had the materials, it was time to actually start making the bag. I started by cutting out the different pieces, following the general shape I had observed from the pictures. This part was actually kind of fun, like putting together a big puzzle. Then came the sewing, which was definitely the hardest part. I don’t have a fancy sewing machine or anything, so I had to do it all by hand. Let me tell you, my fingers were sore after that! I pulled it off, though. It’s all about being persistent, right? After a few tries and a few re-dos, I got it all pieced together.
Getting The Details Right
The Chain: This was another tricky part. I wanted to get the chain detail right, but finding the right kind of chain was a pain. I ended up having to order a few different ones online before I found one that looked right. It’s not exactly the same as the original, but it’s close enough. After fitting it to my bag, it felt like a pretty good match.
- The Lining: I decided to go with a simple black fabric for the lining. I figured it wouldn’t be that noticeable anyway. Cutting this to size and getting it in place wasn’t too hard, but I had to be sure it lined up with the outer pieces.
- The Logo: Okay, this was where I really didn’t want to mess up. The Prada logo is pretty iconic, you know? I found a template online and carefully traced it onto a piece of metal. Then I had to very carefully cut it out and attach it to the bag. It was nerve-wracking, but I think it turned out okay.
And… that’s pretty much it! After a lot of trial and error, I finally had my own “original order” Remake PRADA Re-Edition 1995 Chaine Re-Nylon Mini-Bag. It’s definitely not perfect, and I’m sure a real fashion expert could spot the differences from a mile away. But you know what? I made it myself, and that’s pretty darn cool. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. Maybe I’ll try making another one someday, who knows?
