Alright, so the other day, I got this itch, right? A real itch to try and make something fancy. See, I’d been eyeing those PRADA Galleria Saffiano Leather Bags for a while now. Yeah, those real expensive ones you see in the fancy stores. I thought, “Why not? Let’s give it a shot.”
First thing I did was look up these bags online. They call ’em “Remake PRADA Medium Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag” or something like that. Sounds complicated, but it’s just a purse, really. I checked out a bunch of pictures, tried to see how they’re put together. They got this special kind of leather, called Saffiano. It’s tough, doesn’t get all soft and old-looking like regular leather.

- Learned about Saffiano leather.
Next, I went out to get the stuff I needed. Found some leather that looked kinda like that Saffiano stuff. It wasn’t the real deal, but it was close enough. Got some tools, thread, and all that jazz. I was ready to start.
I started cutting the leather, following the shapes I saw in the pictures. Sewed the pieces together, real slow and careful. It was tough, I tell ya. My fingers got all sore, and I messed up a few times. But I kept at it, ripping out stitches and starting over when I had to.
The Hard Part
The hardest part was getting the shape right. Those PRADA bags, they got this certain look to ’em. Real structured and all. I had to stuff the bag with newspaper to make it hold its shape while I sewed. And let me tell you, sewing through that thick leather was a workout.
After a lot of sweat and a few cuss words, I finally finished it. It wasn’t perfect, not like those real PRADA bags. But you know what? It looked pretty darn good. I even carried it around for a few days, and nobody could tell it was a homemade job unless I told ’em.
So, that’s my story about making a “Remake” PRADA bag. It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot. Maybe I’ll try making another one someday, but for now, I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.
