Okay, so today I’m going to talk about my little adventure trying to remake the Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It all started when I saw this gorgeous bag online. I mean, this thing was a beauty! It has this classic, timeless look that I just adore, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I started looking around for some YSL bags and stuff, just to get an idea of what’s out there. I found out that these bags are cheaper in Europe, especially in Paris. Like, at least 20% cheaper! And that’s without even thinking about the tax refund stuff. So, for a moment there, I was really thinking about flying over just to get one of these beauties for myself, but that might be taking it a bit too far, right? The price of a plane ticket probably wasn’t worth it.
I spent some time figuring out what makes a YSL bag special. They’re known for their quality and how well they’re made, right down to the tiniest details. Plus, they hold their value pretty well, which is a big deal if you’re into luxury fashion. I also learned that the resale value depends on how old the bag is, the model, how rare it is, and the condition. So, keeping it in tip-top shape is super important!
Then, I tried to see how YSL is connecting with the younger crowd, you know, the Gen Z folks. Apparently, they’re all over TikTok, working with influencers and making content that feels real and relatable. It’s pretty smart, actually. They are really embracing innovation, I noticed. I guess that’s how they became so successful.
One of the most important parts of the bag is the label. I looked it up, and it’s supposed to have a style number and an art number. I made sure to get that right in my remake. I read somewhere that getting designer items should be a well-thought-out process. You gotta think about your lifestyle and how the item will fit into your wardrobe.
In my remake, I wanted to capture that essence of YSL, like how they broke traditional gender norms with some of their designs. There’s this Muse Bag and Le Smoking Clutch, for example, that are just iconic. The tuxedo for women is also pretty cool. It just goes to show how a brand can really change the game.
I also tried to follow some style tips I found, attributed to the genius of Yves Saint Laurent himself. It’s all about looking beautiful and valuing your appearance, so I paid close attention to the details in my remake. These bags show how much attention they give to every little detail. When I made mine, I tried to be just as careful.

It’s not exactly like the real JUNE BOX BAG, but it looks pretty close. I’m happy with how it turned out. Plus, I learned a ton about bag making and the brand itself. It was a fun project, and I got a pretty cool bag out of it. I think Yves Saint Laurent would be proud!
