Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster, the Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” one, model number 310.92.44.50.01.001. You know, the one that looks like a rocket? Yeah, that’s the one. I finally decided to pull the trigger and get a copy of it.
First things first, I had to find a decent place to buy it from. I spent a good chunk of time browsing around, reading a bunch of forums, and comparing prices and pictures. It’s a bit of a minefield out there, honestly. Lots of places selling these things, but you never really know what you’re gonna get until it arrives.
After what felt like forever, I stumbled upon this one seller that seemed legit. They had a ton of pictures, good reviews, the whole nine yards. So, I took a deep breath and placed my order. Waiting for it to arrive was torture! Every day I was checking the tracking info like a hawk.
Then, boom! It finally arrived. I ripped open the package like a kid on Christmas morning. And there it was, the watch in all its glory. First impression? It looked pretty darn good. The weight felt right, the details were sharp, and the ceramic case had that cool, dark sheen to it just like the real deal.
Unboxing & Inspection

I immediately started inspecting it closely. I checked the chronograph pushers—they clicked nicely. The hands moved smoothly when I set the time. I wound it up, and it started ticking away. So far, so good.
- Strap Examination:
The strap, though not genuine leather, felt decent enough. It’s got that racing style with the yellow accents, which is a nice touch. It wasn’t stiff or anything, so that was a plus.
- Movement:
Now, I’m no watch expert, but I popped the back off just to take a peek at the movement. It was a copy movement that look like the real deal. The rotor spun freely, and it seemed to be keeping time okay. I mean, it’s not a genuine OMEGA movement, obviously, but it did the job. All of these parts move as they should. I am satisfied so far.
I’ve been wearing the watch for a few weeks now, and it’s been great. I’ve gotten a few compliments on it, which is always nice. Nobody’s called me out on it being a copy, so that’s a relief.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase. It’s a cool-looking watch that scratches that Speedmaster itch without breaking the bank. Sure, it’s not the real thing, but it’s a solid copy that’s definitely worth considering if you’re in the market for one. Now I want to do this again with another model. It is kind of fun.
